Final Project

For this project, I created a portrait series that shows what a day at Bethel is really like. I wanted to capture the full experience—both the fun, lighthearted moments and the more serious, focused ones. College life isn’t just one thing, and I tried to reflect that balance in my photos.

I used natural light and took portraits of people around campus, sometimes while they were doing something, sometimes when they noticed the camera, and other times when they were completely caught in the moment. I played around with depth of field to draw attention to my subjects while still making the setting feel meaningful. I didn’t want anything to feel too posed or edited—I wanted the photos to feel raw and real.

I also made sure to include small, consistent details in each photo that remind people this is Bethel. Whether it was something in the background or a specific location on campus, I wanted every shot to feel grounded in this place. My goal was for the photos to make people feel like they could step into them—like they could imagine themselves here, living the mix of fun, hard work, and everything in between that makes up life at Bethel. I don't know why but when I finished editing them there was a black background.

Assignment #3 Portraits

In my portraits my theme was to show the beauty in melanin skin I had three different models all doing different things, and I played around with the lighting in every shot really make the skin of each model pop.

My lighting chart is in the order that the photos are in now going from left to right.

DOF and MOTION

FREEZE MOTION: With This image I was trying to get a good shot of the pitcher winding up to pitch the ball. I played with the contrast and the brightness a bit with this photo also because I felt like it was too bright at first but I think it's a well edited photo.

DOF: I felt like this was a great example of an interesting depth of field photo, and I also desaturated the photo to give it a 60's affect.

FREEZE MOTION: With this image I got the Pitcher delivering a strike to the batter freezing the pitcher in his motion. I also played around with the red on the curves and levels option.

FREEZE MOTION: In this photo I caught the 1st baseman in motion getting the runner out also playing with the brightness of the photo and the purples saturation.

DOF: This photo was taken at the top of the bleachers and I feel like I got a great DOF with this photo also freezing the players motion as he went up for a dunk, and the image was well edited with colors and effects.

DOF: This image I feel like is also a great example of a good DOF the image was well edited and I also played with the contrast controls a bit to bring the tone of the photo down a bit.

FREEZE MOTION: I like the way this image turned out after editing I brought the contrast down a bit to make his tattoos pop. I played with the yellow color control on the hue and saturation setting and brought the brightness of the yellow colors up a bit.

DOF: I feel like this photo is one of my best photos out of these that I'm giving you now it was well edited I brought the brightness down some because I felt like it was too bright. I also did some dodging let me know if you can find it lol.

Check-In Post

In this Photo I tried to freeze the motion of #10 and him receiving the ball.

With this photo I was at the very top of the bleachers and I wanted to get a good DOF also trying to freeze the motion of him going up for a dunk.

Same with this photo I was at the top of the bleachers getting a good DOF and also trying to freeze the players motion.

BLACK AND WHITE ASSIGNMENT

These Are my five black and white edits for assignment 1 I chose a picture of a cross in the distance.

In this picture I desaturated and I messed around with the levels effect to make the texture on the tree pop more.

In this image I was trying to get the shadows at the bottom of the picture to pop out or look more bold

I think that this image is my perfect image It mad the textures of the smaller cross pop and it also makes the water droplets on the big cross pop which makes the picture more appealing.

In this last picture I wanted to make it seem more gothic like and darken the picture up.

This would be my original photo which I kinda like better than the other ones just because the color makes it look better.

Capturedbyvon

Photography and videography is something that I love doing, and something that I've been doing for a while. My first love was photography but moving along past photography I started to fall in love with videography. Making music videos were just so cool to me at the time and doing that still is incredibly cool. I can't really explain it but it's just the vibe if you understand and just being in that setting with the camera doing what you love. One thing I can say about it all is the editing, not that it is hard but it does take a while when you want everything perfect like me I'll give you an example.

Other than recording and taking pictures I like to find a lot of different ways to make money. I'm also a Student- Athlete so you can imagine how hard it is to find work while playing and also going to school. I'm from Atlanta Ga, and my major is in Business management and accounting. I'm also at Bethel on a football scholarship and academic, the best of both worlds really.
